(四川-2018年5月13日)汶川地震十周年日(5月12日),四川省成都市公安局青羊分局出动数百人,阻挠秋雨圣约教会举行5.12汶川地震十周年聚会。教会牧师王怡、李英强等众多信徒被警察传唤。当晚,王怡牧师等大多数信徒获释。据该教会初步统计,当天有两百多人被带走,一万五千册圣经等基督教书籍、近千张光盘被扣。目前仍有三人未释放,包括执事会主席覃德富。
成都秋雨圣约教会众多信徒因打算聚会纪念512汶川地震十周年,本周日上午遭到公安抓捕。当晚十点许,获释的教会牧师王怡发消息称,他和李英强传道都已回家。初步统计,当天有超过200位弟兄姊妹被警察带走,目前还有3人没有出来,包括执事会主席覃德富。圣经和图书被暂扣15600本,光盘930张。
一位要求匿名的信徒称,教会的书籍均被公安和宗教部门人员搬走:“当天中午11点许,数十名公安、宗教局及街道办人员破门而入。查封教会、神学院和图书室,还搬走大量书籍,包括圣经、诗歌本及传福音单张、光盘。覃德富和严长老被带走”。
信徒张培鸿当天发代祷信称,今天(12日)上午11时许,秋雨圣约教会已经开始被查封,该来的终于来了。请大家儆醒、恒切祷告,称颂至高者的圣名,独独将荣耀归给祂!也请大家为所有被带走的会友、同工和牧者祷告,求主赐给他们够用的恩典,在这个邪恶的时代做美好的见证!
当晚获释的王怡牧师发帖称,秋雨圣约的教案已经拉开帷幕:“我为两件事赞美主,一是选在5.12十周年这一天,这是主特别的恩典的记号。二是我为你们感恩,因为我们不是在退却、躲藏和逃避中经历这一天的来临,而是在奋兴、赞美和奔跑中迎来这一天”。
本周日(5月13日),王怡牧师如期在教会向来者讲道,证道题目“十字架的道路,殉道者的生命”(启6:9-11)。现场图片显示,众多听众在场认真听道,王怡牧师表情镇定,在台上证道。虽然聚会场地不大,但座无虚席。网民张起(凡骨)在推特写道,2018年5月13日,四川大地震的第十年,秋雨小地震的第二天。主日,在秋雨之福教会,王怡牧师证道——《十字架的道路,殉道者的生命》。
据秋雨教会简报称,周六(12日)上午8点30分,一名信徒被带到青羊区接济遣散中心,被一便衣男子极其粗暴对待,约下午一点,该信徒被带到草市街派出所。两个小时后被释放。另一批约30人被带到居住地派出所,滞留数小时后被释放。据信徒回忆,当天第一批被公安抓走的人中,有康国富父子,张艳姊妹及李渺清等人。第二批包括教会同工丁书奇、曾永建等,他们在派出所被单独置留在一房间内,现场有二十多名警察戒备。

(Sichuan-2018-5-13)On the 10th anniversary of the Sichuan earthquake (May 12th), the Qingyang Branch of the Chengdu Public Security Bureau, Sichuan Province dispatched more than a hundred police to disrupt a gathering held by the Early Rain Covenant Church commemorating the earthquake. The police brought away many church members, including Pastor Wang Yi and Pastor Li Yingqiang. During the night, Pastor Wang Yi and most of the detained church members were released. According to data collected by the church, the police arrested more than two hundred people and confiscated 15,000 copies of the Bible and other religious materials and a thousand DVDs. Three church members are still in prison, including Qin Defu, the chairman of the church committee.
Members of the Early Rain Covenant Church of Chengdu planned to organize a gathering commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Sichuan earthquake, but the police disrupted the meeting and arrested the church members during Sunday morning. At 10 P.M., Pastor Wang Yi posted a message announcing that he and Li Yingqiang got home safely. According to preliminary statistics, more than two hundred church members were arrested, and three of them, including the chairman of the church committee, Qin Defu, were still in prison. The police confiscated 15,600 copies of the Bible and other religious materials and 930 DVDs.
An anonymous Christian told the reporter that the officials from the public security bureau and the department of religious affairs removed all the books from the church. “At 11 o’clock in the morning, dozens of police and officials from the bureau of religious affairs and subdistrict office broke into the church. They sealed off the front gate of the church, the theological seminary and the library and confiscated a large number of books, including the Bible, copies of the psalms, flyers and DVDs. Qin Defu and Elder Yan were arrested.”
Church member Zhang Peihong posted a letter of prayer on the same day: “At 11 o’clock this morning (12th), the Early Rain Covenant Church was banned. It finally happened. Please be alerted and keep praying, praising the name of the Lord and dedicating all the glory to him. Please pray for the church members, co-workers and pastors arrested by the police. May the Lord endow them with grace, so they can survive as witnesses of this ugly time.”
Pastor Wang Yi, who was released during night, posted online that the persecution against the Early Rain Covenant Church had finally begun. “I want to thank God for two things. Firstly, it began on the 10th anniversary of 5.12 earthquake. It’s a sign of Lord’s grace. Secondly, I feel grateful for all of us that we did not spend the day fleeing, retreating and hiding; instead, we welcomed it with praise and excitement.”
On Sunday (May 13th), Pastor Wang Yi delivered a sermon titled “The Path of the Cross, the Cry of the Martyrs” to the church members (Revelation 6:9-11). According to pictures, the church members listened carefully, while Pastor Wang Yi preached calmly. The meeting place was not spacious. Every chair was filled up. Zhang Qi (Fan Gu) wrote about the sermon on twitter: “May 13th, 2018, the 10th anniversary of the Sichuan earthquake, the second day of the earthquake that happened to the Early Rain Covenant Church. According to report of the Early Rain Church, at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday (12th), a church member was brought to the Dismissal Center of Qingyang District. A police in plain clothes treated him brutally. At 1 o’clock afternoon, the church member was brought to the Caoshijie Police Station and was released two hours later. Another group of thirty church members were brought to the police station near their residences and were released several hours later. According to church members, Kang Guofu and his son, Sister Zhang Yan and Li Miaoqing were among the first group of church members arrested by the police; co-worker Ding Shuqi and Zeng Yongjian were among the second group. The church members were detained in a room, while more than twenty police guarded the door.
The banning of the Early Rain Church and the arrest of the church members shocked people at home and overseas. At 10 P.M., Christians from every part of the world prayed for the Early Rain Church.
